Giorgos Katsambekis was born in Thessaloniki in 1984. He is a PhD candidate at the School of Political Sciences at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he also received his MA degree in Political Analysis. His research focuses on contemporary political theory (with an emphasis on post-structuralist/post-Marxist approaches) and discourse analysis, studying, more specifically, populism, democracy and post-democracy, as well as contemporary social movements. He is the co-editor of the collective volume Radical Democracy and Collective Movements Today. The Biopolitics of the Multitude versus the Hegemony of the People, forthcoming by Ashgate in Spring 2014.
